Begin the Countdown

Hey everyone!

As many of you know, I'll be leaving in 4 short days to study abroad in Kobe, Japan for 6 months. In order to keep in touch, I'll hopefully update this blog, in combination with Facebook, to let you know about my adventures and embarrassing moments (which are bound to happen). lol :) As I will probably update this very sporadically, it'll only be bits and pieces of my trip (hence the title lol)

So far the itinerary includes Kobe University until early August, Tokyo until September, and Hong Kong somewhere near the beginning of September. My tentative return date is currently set at September 7th, 2012. If you see any overlaps with your summer travel, let me know, we can get together and have some amazing times. :D

In preparation, over the last few weeks, I've tried to spend time with many of you; do something memorable, connect and try to compensate for the time where we won't be able to see each other. For that, I want to say thank you, for all the laughs and giggles, memories, and fun times that we've made. I'm going to miss all of you so much! I think that's the most difficult thing I'm doing right now, saying goodbye to all the people that I've become so close to and have grown to care so much about. I hope that all of you stay safe and well, and that we stay in touch even while I'm away! But now I'm getting too sentimental :P

I should start packing, which I've been avoiding like the plague lol For those of you who have traveled abroad for extensive periods of time (and Japan specifically), let me know what you think :D

  • What did you wish you brought?
  • What did you wish you didn't bring?
  • If you were to only give me one piece of advice, what would it be?

Anyways, for those of you who skimmed:
I'm going away. I wanna stay in touch. Read my blog. Comment on it. lol

  2. I love this! You are so much more concise, more practically-oriented, less rambling, and less ambitious (probably way more achievable of a goal) than me. =P Good job. I can't wait to follow and see your take on everything. x)

I also feel priviledged and bless completely to be with you on this trip, by the way. For all except maybe a week, at this point. I am excited beyond measure just to be spending all that time together with you. :)

  3. AIRBORNE EMERGENCY COLD COUGH AND ALLERGY MEDICINATION. Pain killers and itcy cream.

Being/buy a hat to cover your eyes and sunglasses and sunscreen. Brim extra pairs of contacts and glasses in case one breaks. Weird things happen.

Pack less clothes cause trust me you will buy lots while you are there. And one rain jacket that is thin just in case for crazy weather.

Bring your charger and battery for your camera.. Don't be like me and forget lol... Ummm... Two pairs of flip flops and nice comfortable walking shoes!! That's all I can think of now... Oh bring a comb... And face lotion unless you know Japan has your stuff you like =)
